Impulse

We’re com­ing up on the one year anniver­sary of the start of the race. I think that’s as good an excuse as any to get fin­ished on this movie. I’ve left it lan­guish­ing while I worked on a startup. This month, I’m let­ting the startup go and will focus on edit­ing until it’s done.
Since it’s been six months since I last looked at any of this, I’ve spent the last few days review­ing footage. This time, though, I’m being a lit­tle more exploratory about it — mean­der­ing from one clip to another instead of going through them in sequence. Meanwhile, I’m doing radio-style logs (See the This American Life comic book on the sub­ject) includ­ing visual notes and rep­re­sen­ta­tive stills from the video stream. I print these out, thus I can sift and edit very quickly on paper. Looks promis­ing, but we’ll see how use­ful it ends up being.
