@davelab6 Or put another way: for products you consume (use it for a time & move on), loss-leaders work. But fonts aren't (yet) consumables.
@davelab6 Maybe. I think it works for any habitual purchase - ice cream, music, books, drugs. Are fonts a habitual purchase? (should they?)
